UKAP held its first meet and mix at Sanctum Soho Hotel on Tuesday March 26th to discuss issues of interest to its members and make the information available to those who were unable to attend
Some of the immediate concerns were the recent demand placed on performers by overseas companies to comply with 14 day PCR testing at an additional cost for performers to adhere to new rules increasing performer safety on productions. While the decision for 14 day testing was welcomed it was not something that could be facilitated by clinics in the UK like 56 Dean Street a popular testing centre for the adult industry community
Producers voted in favour of remaining with the 28 day testing but supported 14 day tests for performers working for companies that required them to do so. It was felt that the European studios were hit with an increase of STDs a lot more than the UK probbaly due to its high turnaround of perfomers entering the business. With productions on the increase and the demand to do more outrageous scenes it was just a matter of time before someone got HIV which ironically was not related tothe adult industry.
"One performer with HIV does not an outbreak make" and we have been here at this point before which is why some people carried on shoting during the shut down.
Update On Age Verification Delay
Age verification was delayed yet again and Steve Winyard of AV Secure was on hand to update the atrtendees with what is going on and estimates the new date will be sometime in September
